This was the most recent complaint received. People (including me) didn't like how the ad banners were as wide as the page and pushed page content downwards, which made misclicking easy. The Gamepedia wiki was created mostly due to the sheer amount of complaints about the ads on Fandom, and so the Gamepedia wiki was made to help please the community if that's what they see (not saying I'm against it, either). It's good to know the staff are trying to improve the ads on Fandom. Please reach out if anyone has questions! In any case, it's great to see the plan is to have the two wikis coexist, and the commitment to keeping up content in both places. It's unfortunate that some felt the situation was bad enough to warrant setting up a new wiki, but I hope it's clear that we're working to improve things.
I discussed that test in detail on this thread and asked for feedback. This is separate from the broader testing described in the Community Central blog and it's ongoing. On the subject of ads, I do want to point out that we're focusing on improving the ad experience right now. If any more frequent questions need answering, I will add them here. This has no immediate fix as of now, and can only be resolved over time as pages are edited. All articles are there and can be found through searching. The move process was mostly automated, and as a side effect (or bug, if I may say so), that template can't see pages that haven't been edited at least once while on Gamepedia.Why does the main page say "We have 21 articles"? Just 21? Your Wikia profile will remain unaffected. Just state your Wikia account's name and Gamepedia account's name, and the staff will transfer your contributions and badges in the form of Gamepedia's badges along with your edit count and account history. You can find a link to a form for preserving your contributions at the top of the site. Nothing will happen! Gamepedia has an achievement/badge system as well.What will happen to them? Will I lose them? I am an old contributor at the Wikia wiki with a great edit count and a lot of badges that I felt proud having. Just keep DST changes to entities in a separate section and tag DST Exclusive articles by typing at the top. Making separate wikis for DS and DST will be confusing and it is better to just group them under one wiki. A slightly lower quality wiki with ads that have far less impact.A higher quality wiki but with more impactful ads to boot.Wikia had some features that Gamepedia lacks, such as article comments, but Gamepedia does have some features specific to the site as well. However, Gamepedia is not a straight upgrade. Gamepedia has ads restricted to the right side and they will never take up space related to articles. Wikia has ads with much higher impact.
